The medicine can also be used in case there is a serious infection on the fetal tissue, uterus or the mother. The drug can cross the placenta easily which makes it a better option when treating the mother and child infections. Since the drug is yet to be studied in the length, it is still necessary to ensure that the clindamycin and pregnancy warnings are kept in mind and the woman has to take the medicine if it is necessary and the doctor see that the benefits are outweighing the risks.

The medicine in women can be given orally and also through topical or vaginal methods. The medication can cause intestinal conditional and sometimes it can be too severe and it can cause death in the end because of one type of resistant bacteria. You should let your doctor know in case you develop intestinal condition or diarrhea. The condition can still occur even if you have finished the treatment for sometime. When you take the medicine while pregnant, you can have more of the following side effects: nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. Using this medicine can also cause you vaginal discharge or yeast infection. In rare occasions, you can develop a serious and rare allergic reaction and you have to let your doctor know as soon as possible. The symptoms of allergy can be trouble in breathing, dizziness rash and itching.
